If it’s been a while since your last headshot (or maybe this is your first), you might be wondering what really happens during a session. The process is much simpler — and a lot more comfortable — than most people expect.

Here’s a quick look at what to expect when you come into my NYC studio for corporate headshots. Whether you’re a freelancer, executive, or building your personal brand, this guide will help you walk in feeling ready.

Step 1: We Talk Through What You Need

Before your session, we’ll connect about your goals. Every client is different. Some just want a strong, classic LinkedIn shot. Others want several looks for press features, speaking gigs, or company profiles.

Since you’re coming into my studio, I’ll have everything set up to match your vision.

We’ll cover:

• How you plan to use the images
• The style and tone you want (polished, approachable, relaxed, or a mix)
• The outfits you’re bringing, so we can plan the right backgrounds and lighting

Once we’ve mapped this out, you just show up — I’ll handle the rest.

Step 2: You Arrive at the Studio

When you arrive, I’ll walk you through the process. You don’t need to know how to pose — I’ll give simple, clear direction for every shot.

The studio is quiet, private, and designed to help you settle in. Lighting and gear are ready to go when you arrive.

What to bring:

• One or two more outfit options than your package includes, so we have choices
• Your glasses, if you usually wear them
• Any grooming tools or makeup touch-ups you might need

Most clients are surprised at how relaxed and quick the process feels.

Step 3: We Start Shooting

Once you’re ready, we’ll start shooting. I’ll guide you through easy, natural movements that look great on camera. You don’t have to “know your angles” — that’s my job.

We’ll check a few images together as we go. Seeing early shots helps you feel confident and ensures we’re on the right track.

If your package includes multiple outfits, we’ll switch things up so you leave with a variety of strong options.

Step 4: We Review and Wrap Up

If your session includes on-the-spot image selection, we’ll do that before you leave. Otherwise, I’ll send you a private online gallery where you can review and select your favorite images later.

Step 5: Image Selection & Retouching

After your session, you’ll receive a proof gallery with the best images from your shoot.

Your package includes a set number of retouched images (this will be listed in your contract and booking details). If you want to add more, you can order extras directly from your gallery.

What’s included in retouching:

• Light skin smoothing
• Blemish removal
• Teeth whitening (if needed)
• Flyaway hair cleanup
• You’ll look like yourself — just polished and camera-ready.

Timing:

• Proof gallery: 3–5 business days
• Retouched images: 3–7 business days from the time you order them (average delivery is 4–5 days)
• All images are delivered in both high-resolution and web-ready formats.
